Referred to as a slack suit or a hostess suit in the late 30s
Fabricated in a natural colored raw silk
Three piece pant suit includes a blazer, trousers, and belt
The blazer features notched lapels
Fitted with darts at the princess seams in the front and back princess seams
Fastens with mother of pearl buttons
Padded shoulders
Full length sleeves with three decorative mother of pearl buttons
Single besom chest pocket
Patch pockets on the hips
The high rise pleat front trousers feature a Hollywood waist
Self belt is included
Fastens with a Talon metal toothed zipper at the fly and a hook and bar at the top edge
Pockets set into side seams
1 5/8" trouser cuff
Maker: Slack In Hollywood (Designed by Ira Slack, Hollywood dress designer and artist who passed away in 1956.)
Condition: Very good. The center back seam was open when I purchased this. I added a 40s era bias tape to the frayed waistband edges so I could restitched the seam. See photos. Freshly dry cleaned, arrives clean and ready to wear.
