1930s Embroidered Dress with Border Trim, Medium
Dates to the later half of the 1930s
Fabricated in a black rayon crepe
Chunky rayon fagoting embroidery along the armholes, the front and back bodice and the front skirt create a subtle Deco design.
A wonderful contrast beige trim on the sleeve cuffs and the front edge and neckline give this a peasant look
Fastens with snaps at the neck and waist and a hook and eye inside at the waist in addition to the crochet buttons through loops on the trim.
Full length balloon sleeves with rows of shirring at the sleeve caps and a single crochet button on the trimmed sleeve cuff
Hem is finished in the rayon trim.
Maker: Unknown. No labels.
Condition: Very good. I have made a rather discreet repair to the back right skirt panel about 3” below the waist seam. See photos. It would appear that one button is missing just below the waist seam. Freshly dry cleaned, arrives clean and ready to wear.
