Dates to the very late 1930s to early 40s

Fabricated in a burnt orange colored rayon plissé in a polka dot pattern.

High neck with a notched V at the center front

Fastens with covered buttons through self loops at center back neck

Knife pleats set into shoulder and waist seams on the front bodice

Bust darts

Short sleeves with deep pleated sleeve caps. No shoulder pads, but there are self fabric “bumpers” in the caps to hold the puffed sleeve cap shape.

Fastens down side seam with a metal toothed Stronghold brand zipper

Shaped waist yoke in the front, narrows to the back.

Flared skirt with knife pleat along the princess line in the front and inverted box pleat at center back with a knife pleat on either side.

Fabulous back pleated peplum with a strong Deco look at the back waist.

3/4” hem, clean finished with rayon bias hem tape.

Maker: Unknown. No labels. If home sewn, It was well made.

Condition: Very good. A few tiny pulls to the fabric. See photos. Freshly dry cleaned, arrives clean and ready to wear.
