1981 Chloe by Karl Lagerfeld Ivory Silk Dress
This is a 2 piece set which includes a slip dress and the over dress
Both layers are Fabricated in an ivory colored silk crepe de chine
The top layer is a popover style with a slit at the back neck, fastening with two mother of pearl buttons through self loops and a hook and thread loop at the top.
It features a bertha collar edged in embroidered net lace appliques which reappear on the sleeve edges, the hem and as insets throughout.
Dropped shoulder seams hidden beneath the collar
The slip is a simple straight cut shift , influenced by the 1920s, with a deep hem.
It’s bottom edge trimmed in the embroidered lace, making alterations to it’s length impossible.
It has self spaghetti straps and a deep slit with a mother of pearl button and thread loop at the back neck.
The slip has hand finishing details to the binding.
Both pieces bear the Chloé label
Maker: Chloé, Made in France for Neiman Marcus
The Neiman Marcus paper label was torn when this dress was cleaned, but I saved it and it will arrive with the dress.
This dress dates to Karl Lagerfeld’s time at Chloé. It looks to be from the 1981 collection. I have found ads and a runway photo with the same lace insets.
Condition: Very Good/Excellent with minimal signs of wear. Arrives clean and ready to wear.
Measurements: The measurements below are the actual measurements of the garment. Please allow for ease. Whenever possible the best way to insure a good fit is by comparing the measurements to that of a similar garment in your closet.
